Review: J.Lindeberg Fall 2018 Collection

Up until now, the clothes coming from J.Lindeberg could be categorized into two groups. Fashion, styles you'd associate with a catwalk, and lifestyle --the brand specializes in golf, ski, and activewear.  But at Copenhagen Fashion Week, under new Creative Director Jens Werner a Fall 2018 collection that united the four pillars that makes up the Stockholm based brand into one runway collection.

Mountain ski slopes inspired Werner' design efforts. Maybe the Åre ski resorts were on the brain as models hit the runway bundled up in super-size scarves, and expedition parkas. Werner referenced 70's ski wear for the women's pants. High-waisted and flared the bottoms featured a piping detail and ran down the legs and outlining the knees. Elements of fashion, golf and activewear shined through too. Plaid suiting and cashmere knit, Polos with small J. Lindeberg logos, and color-blocked swimwear added to the marriage of four clothing categories living in one collection.

The collection could have used cold weather accessories. Ski goggles with the brand's name written across the band or knit gloves and hats in the yellows, reds, and blue seen throughout this fall lineup would have been a more appropriate option than the dad hats featured. But, the blending of the fashion, ski, golf, and activewear for Fall proved to be a solid one, well done Werner.
