Thank you for your interest in contributing to Kolor Magazine. We are elated to accept exclusive photography submissions for kolormagazine.com fashion sections. Please find guidelines below for fashion and culture photography submissions.
EXCLUSIVE FASHION EDITORIAL SUBMISSIONS:
We accept fashion and accessory-focused editorials for kolormagazine.com. Editorial submissions must have
At a minimum, one (1) black or brown model(cisgender or transgender). With that requirement met, editorials featuring multiple subjects of different backgrounds are welcomed. *Accessory stories can be products only.
A minimum of five (5) looks/product shots. Horizontal and Vertical, beauty and grooming-focused, and accessory-focused shots are welcomed and count in the five (5) look/product minimum.
Varied wardrobe credits throughout your story. Please LIMIT high street (Zara, H&M, Forever 21, Uniqlo, Topman ETC), vintage or stylist own clothing credits.
When submitting your pitch, please send low-res images in a small PDF or a WeTransfer link (preferred) with the following:
Story title
Team credits (photographer, stylist, grooming, hair, assistants, models and their agencies, location) with Instagram handles if available.
Styling credits (example: Shirt, PHILIPP PLEIN; Pants, PHILIPP PLEIN; Jacket, ICEBERG; Boots JIMMY CHOO.
Model release forms, if applicable.
Email your submission to nigel@kolormagazine.com and CC ammar@ammarjamal.com with the subject line, Editorial Submission: Kolor.
If we believe your story is a good fit for Kolor Magazine, we'll follow up and request you to send High Res Images (300dpi minimum JPG OR PNG Files) Via WeTransfer (preferably) to publish your story.
Please allow us 72 hours to respond before following up. We review every email sent through and do our best to respond to every submission in a timely manner. If we do not get back within a week, please accept our apologies, but we're graciously passing on your submission, and hope to publish your work in the future.

EDITORIALS MUST BE EXCLUSIVE TO KOLOR MAGAZINE, MEANING UNPUBLISHED IN PRINT AND/OR ONLINE, INCLUDING SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS AND NONCOMMISSIONED WORK. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO PULL ANY STORY THAT DOESN’T NOT MEET OUR GUIDELINES FOR ANY REASON, EVEN AFTER PUBLISHING. WE DO NOT GIVE COMMISSIONING/PULL LETTERS UNLESS WE SPECIFICALLY CONTACT YOU ABOUT WORKING WITH US.
We are not liable for costs, if any, occurred at your shoot. Please only carry out a shoot if you can financially afford to and have the necessary insurance to cover any unforeseen damage.
Contributing Writers and Editors
Writers and Editors please send any articles directly or alternatively send your ideas with proposed imagery and examples of previous work to nigel@kolormagazine.com. We prioritize list content and articles that answer questions —see list of examples below— but we also welcome think pieces, opinion based stories backed up by facts, celebrity style articles and entertainment pieces centered around black and brown culture. Contributing is on a byline credit only, first time writers are encouraged to reach out.
