Kendrick Lamar Shows The Fellas How To Wear Chanel During Paris Haute Couture Week

Paris Fashion Week is yet again in full swing. But instead of men's and women's ready-to-wear collections, designers are unveiling their Fall 2023 Haute Couture lines. Of course, it would be fashion week without celebs turning out in their best fashions, and turning heads on day 2 of couture week was Kendrick Lamar.
Attending the Chanel Haute Couture show, the "To Pimp a Butterfly" rapper showed up to the stylish event in an equally stylish all-white Chanel tweed jacket with a white t-shirt and navy interlocking CC logo Chanel pants. A black Chanel hat with a scarf from the brand wrapped around the panels, Chanel sunglasses, a pearl necklace, and thick sole black shoes completed Lamar's fashion week look.

Haute couture refers to high fashion, specifically creating custom-made, one-of-a-kind garments meticulously crafted by skilled artisans. The term "haute couture" is French and translates to "high sewing" or "high dressmaking.
To be considered haute couture, a fashion house must meet several requirements, such as having an atelier in Paris with a minimum number of skilled artisans. The garments produced under the haute couture label are custom-fitted to individual clients. These garments use the finest quality fabrics, intricate embellishments, and hand-sewing techniques. Each piece is a work of art, reflecting the designer's creativity and craftsmanship.
Well-known couture houses include Schiaparelli, Alexis Mabille, and Jean Paul Gaultier, but the most coveted couture house is Chanel, who showed their Fall 2023 on Tuesday, July 4th. Creative Director Virginie Viard successfully mixed classic Chanel details like tweed fabric, quilted patterns, the iconic Chanel suit, pearls, and interlocking CC logos with new and fresh ideas for the brand. For example, instead of the models carrying the standard Chanel 2.55 or Chanel Boy Bags, the models toted straw basket bags of various sizes filled with flowers down the runway.
