Twitter Reacts To Freddie Gibbs' Funk Flex Freestyle

Freddie Gibbs is the latest rapper to visit the Hot 97 offices and drop a freestyle in Funk Flex's studio. Immediately getting to the bars, the Indiana rapper flowed over Amerie's "Why Don't We Fall In Love," and the freestyle sent Twitter into a frenzy.  

Gibbs kicked off the freestyle by channeling his inner Spike Lee and claiming to be the new king of R&B.  

"Ayo, why they started me; Leg shot almost bled out your artery; Kidnap your wife, duct tape her, I got no heart in me; On my Spike Lee, I might direct, produce, and starring me; Fuck R. Kelly, bitch I’m the new king of R&B.”  

Elsewhere in the freestyle Freddie Gibbs took direct shots at Akademiks, "bouta squeeze Akademiks titties, I love a fat bitch,” he rapped at the end of the freestyle before wrapping up his interview. "I love Akademiks .and we gon have a sit-down, but you had to get that shit, man all the shit you been kicking," he told Flex after the freestyle.

With his fifth studio album Soul Sold Separately dropping on September 30th, Freddie Gibbs is showing face around NYC to promote the upcoming ablum, which includes features from Kelly Price, Rick Ross and Raekwon. We recently spotted the rapper at Afropunk Brooklyn, where he performed "Something To Rap About," "Deeper," and "Babies & Fools."
